Lana Thompson is a certified Professional in Human Resources who is an organizational consultant, training designer and facilitator and personal coach.
As an independent consultant, she focuses on improving HR processes, teamwork, communications, leadership, customer service, and personal effectiveness in the workplace.
In addition to organizational consulting and one-on-one coaching, she has developed and facilitated numerous customized workshops and teambuilding sessions to set common goals, solve problems, and improve effectiveness, productivity, constructive communications, and organizational effectiveness in the workplace. Lana worked on a project which was selected as a semi-finalist for the USA Today Quality Cup award.
She designs and facilitates teambuildings for project partners for the purpose of setting common goals and improving methods of working together for project success. She has served over 90 clients including Alabama Power, BE&K, Inc., Books-A-Million, Housing Authority Birmingham District, Georgia Power, ITC DeltaCom, Jefferson County Department of Health, Mercedes-Benz US International, Oxford Automotive, Savannah Electric, Siemen s, SMI Steel, State of Missouri Division of Family Services, State of Illinois Department of Human Services, Southern Company, United Defense, US State Department - Foreign Building Operations, US Federal Bureau of Prisons, US Army Corps of Engineers, UAB, and the University of Alabama.
Lana graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Communication Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She served two terms as Vice President - Member Services for the Birmingham Society of Human Resource Management as well as Mentor and Certification Programs Coordinator. She served as President of the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development, as well as VP Programs, Volunteer Coordinator and Board Advisor. She is an officer of the International Coach Federation - Alabama Chapter.
